Elise Markwick

Background

Elise is an expert in all matters of property law. She acts for property investors, developers and businesses, individuals, charitable organisations, clubs and schools. Her breadth of experience means she can adjust her approach to suit client requirements, whether they’re large organisations or private individuals. She can also offer additional services and advice on matters such as business transactions or applications to the Overseas Investment Office.

A respected and trusted legal mind, Elise is involved in upskilling New Zealand lawyers and furthering the profession. She has prepared and presented several papers for Legalwise seminars and is a member of the Continuing Professional Development Committee.

She is extensively involved in the Law Association (previously, Auckland District Law Society) on the Association’s Documents and Precedents Committee. This prepares, reviews, and updates standard forms used by all New Zealand law firms, and Elise has acted as both reviewer and lead drafter on a range of sub-committees.

Elise is known for her open-door policy, supervising and mentoring upcoming lawyers and legal executives at Martelli McKegg. This willingness to help extends to the community and charity groups, where she’s held a range of positions.
